Z is for Zep-Tepi

I've been meaning to write this post for about a week but it seems fitting to post this on New Year's Eve.

Last week it struck me that between the secular calendar, Kemetic Orthodoxy and ADF there can be three new year celebrations on my calendar. While New Years day is easiest to celebrate since it is secular the other two are important to. Now three new year celebrations a year can be rather confusing or rather simple. Since every day brings us Zep-Tepi why not have three "fresh starts" a year when every day can be used as a fresh start.

Some heka for this new year celebration. I'm sure I have seem something similar many times before. I have decided I focus too much on the negative in life lately and need to shift my focus to the positive things in life. To this end I went and purchased 2 small wide neck bottles (it also helps this size and design happened to be on clearance as well). Inside one bottle every week or when ever I feel something great happened, I will put in a small slip of paper with what it was that was good. In the other bottle the same thing with negative events. Here's where things will be blended across paths. Once a month on one of my Cill shifts the negative jar will be emptied and its slips burned. Thus removing the negativity symbolically. The positive jar will be kept and next secular new year the contents will be burned in thanks and be ready to receive a fresh start of positive energy.

What's in a name?

One of Bast's many epithets is the "Invisible Paw". Rather fitting for an eye of Ra don't you think? I am a Shemsu of the House of Netjer and as such I have a divined line-up of beloveds and a mother. I am a daughter of Bast and beloved of Sekhmet-Hethert and Wepwawet-Yinepu. Hence the title of this blog "of the invisible paw". More on this later.
